Education for the Community

Delta Ambulance has provided educational opportunities to its staff for years but we also reach out to other EMS providers, as well as the corporate community.

CPR for Family and Friends

Since 1996, Adult Heartsaver CPR programs have been offered.

There is no cost for these programs but preregistration is required — CPR is one of the best things you can learn to help protect your family.

First aid, pediatric CPR, automatic defibrillator education, and CPR for the health care provider are offered on an as needed basis. The cost and length of these programs vary based on the subject matter.

EMS Topics

We offer a variety of programs for EMS, as well as other health care professionals.

Here's a sampling:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) health care provider update
  • AHA Heartsaver CPR
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • 12-Lead EKGs
  • Bloodborne pathogens
  • Airborne pathogens
  • Ambulance Vehicle Operators Course (AVOC)
  • Spinal assessment

Continuing Education

We often offer monthly continuing education at our Augusta and Waterville bases, as well as at several locations throughout the Kennebec Valley region. The programs generally are 1 to 2 hours in length and cover a complete range of topics from patient assessment to managing the newborn.

Programs are not conducted during the months of July and August.

For more information on any of these community education opportunities, please contact David Mejia.
