Paramedic
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
Maine Licenses:
- Valid Maine driver’s license (within one month of employment)
- Maine EMT-paramedic license
Certifications:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BCLS)
- Critical Care Transport Team Paramedic (Opt)
Acquired within six months of employment:
- Ambulance Vehicles Operators Course (AVOC)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- International Trauma Life support (ITLS)
- Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Geriatric Education for Emergency Medical Services (GEMS)
Acquired within three months of employment:
- FEMA IS-700: NIMS, An Introduction
- FEMA ICS-100: Introduction to ICS
- Hazardous Materials Awareness
- Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness
- Maine EMS Paramedic Interfacility Transport Program
Preferred Qualifications
- A.S. Emergency Medical Technology
- Computer literate in Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of process improvement
Job Description
Delta Ambulance, the most trusted mobile healthcare organization in Maine, is seeking qualified and eager candidates for our immediate full-time and per-diem Paramedic openings. Starting salary is $23.00/hr with a scale based on experience. We also offer a $4.00 differential for nights and weekends plus a great benefits package.
The Paramedic performs a variety of functions associated with the delivery of ALS pre-hospital emergency care and routine ambulance transfers including the provision of care during inter-facility transports as the primary provider of care under the Maine EMS Paramedic Inter-facility Transport Program, or as a member of the multi-disciplinary patient care team should the patient’s condition warrant this team approach to patient care. Personnel with this position designation are required to maintain specialized education and provide the highest quality level of medical care to their patients, customers and communities. (Paramedic ambulance and/or paramedic fly-car in a tiered response system)
