Required Qualifications 

Education
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)

Maine Licenses
EMT-Basic License
Valid Maine Driver's License (within one month of employment)

Certifications
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BCLS)

Acquired within six months of employment
Ambulance Vehicles Operators Course (AVOC) 
Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP)
Geriatric Education for Emergency Medical Services (GEMS)

Acquired by December 31, 2006 or within three months of employment
FEMA IS-700: NIMS, An Introduction 
FEMA ICS-100: Introduction to ICS
Hazardous Materials Awareness
Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness

Preferred Qualifications
A.S. Emergency Medical Technology 
Computer literate in Microsoft applications 
Knowledge of process improvement


Advanced EMT
