Delta Ambulance Completes 10th Trek Across Maine
Delta Ambulance is proud to have completed
its 10th year as a primary sponsor of the Trek Across Maine as the
provider of the Medical Team.
This year nearly 1900 Trekkers and 600 volunteers
descended on Sunday River for the 3-day Trek ending in Belfast. Annually,
Delta assembles a team of 18 to help assure the well being of the
Trek troupe as it travels east on a fund raiser celebration. Eight
cycling medics and four advanced life support vans are equipped to
respond to and support medical and traumatic emergencies as well as
many of the minor discomforts such an effort may present to Trekkers
during their 165 mile Trek. Delta coordinates all response with a
Medical Communications van along the Trek route.
Delta thanks and congratulates its Team for
another 'Job well done' caring for the Trek Across Maine. We also
thank our supporters: Hussey Communications, Darling's Auto Mall,
US Cellular and Auto Trim Design of Maine.
Delta's effort is large, but it is only a piece
of the huge effort made each year by thousands for the American Lung
Association of Maine. "We are proud to be a part of the Trek
and hope to continue for many years to come" said Bill McKenna,
Delta's Director of Community Relations.
Delta Ambulance is a not-for-profit
paramedic ambulance service serving communities in central Maine from
bases in Augusta and Waterville and can be visited online at DeltaAmbulance.org
