Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense agency, announced today that three Maine employers have been selected as semifinalists for the 2012 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the DoD to employers for exceptional support of their Guard and Reserve employees. This year, 133 semifinalists nationwide stood out among an impressive pool of 3,236 nominees.

January 18, 2012, we will be operational at our new Waterville base - just across the street from our old home of 40 years - built on land granted to us by MaineGeneral Medical Center.
This will house our Waterville Response Teams, 24-hour Regional dispatch, Education, Business and Administrative offices.

Delta Ambulance recognized for 1,000,000 hours without a loss-time injury
During a celebratory dinner cruise aboard Casco Bay Lines, Randy Klatt of Maine Employers Mutual Insurance Company delivered a Workplace Safety Award to Delta's Executive Director Tim Beals for One-Million hours worked without a loss-time in jury.

We are pleased to announce that Paramedic Kirk Andert has been promoted to Field Supervisor.
Kirk began his EMS career in 2002 with Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service as an EMT-B. Since that time Kirk has risen to the ranks of CCEMT-P, joined Delta in May of 2009 and is currently in pursuit of his Associates Degree in Paramedicine.

At a special ceremony held at the Waterville High School Delta Ambulance, along with MaineGeneral's Prevention Center, was recognized by the Waterville Board of Education for their supportive efforts in providing over 2100 H1N1 vaccinations to the student population.

At a special ceremony held at the VFW Post 887, Augusta, Kevin Gurney was awarded the National Gold Medal Award for EMTs by the VFW. The ceremony was conducted by Alfred Michaud, VFW State Commander, Harry Stickney, VFW District Commander and Richard Willette, Waterville Post 1285 Commander.
